Emilio – SOLD Meet a charming little Lilac boy, named Emilio. He was born the 3rd of October and he is ready for his new home. He is a friendly, palyful and cuddly little
I have always been obsessed with dogs, and it has always been my dream to be surrounded by them all day long—taking care of them, grooming them, and simply loving to love them. Never could I have imagined that I would be so blessed to be given the responsibility to breed dogs. Little did I know that my work with dogs had been written in the stars long before I could dream or even knew it. And so, this great dream of mine came true on a beautiful little farm near Swellendam, called IL Sogno. After viewing the farm, I just knew that my footprints (as well as my dogs’ footprints) were already buried in the sand—planned for us long before we knew. I searched the meaning of the name IL SOGNO, and it means THE DREAM.
Creation, all creatures—great and small—and especially the CREATOR play a huge role in my life. I believe that every person will have to give account for taking care of creation, and that is why I take my responsibility very seriously when breeding dogs. We breed three breeds that we love and adore; we do everything in our power to ensure that we improve each breed. We conduct extensive DNA testing to ensure we breed dogs free of genetic defects, diseases, or deficiencies. Our main goal is to breed healthy dogs with outstanding personalities—their looks are an absolute blessing and bonus. We love to make people happy, especially by playing a tiny role in making someone’s dream come true… something with four paws and puppy breath.
Since I could remember, I was a dog-crazy person… I cannot imagine a world without dogs… I cannot imagine not being surrounded by a lot of dogs. I started breeding Mini Schnauzers during 2009 /2010. I am very passionate about my dogs, the puppies we breed, the bloodlines from which we breed, the overall health of dogs and the psychology behind a dog’s actions. I have done a lot of research and will certainly never stop learning or doing research about this passion of mine. I am also in process to study for a vet-tech so that I can assist quicker if one of our dogs has an emergency.
After I’ve learned a few nasty lessons from self-centred people, I confronted myself with the following question:
“What is my main reason or motive for breeding the breeds that I love so much? Why do I invest so much time, energy and money into my breeding program? Doing research about illnesses, genetics, breeding practices… doing DNA tests that cost a fortune… making sure there are no genetic illnesses in my bloodlines… figuring out which male to breed to which female to produce healthy, beautiful puppies with loads of personality… Why?”
* For the money? Well, then I would have spent every cent on myself and certainly not on my dogs…
Asking myself these question, made me realise that I’m definitely not breeding to become a millionaire, nor do I breed to please people! My main reason for breeding certain breeds is out of love for these breeds and it is my utmost desire to contribute to the future of these breeds – keeping it as healthy and pure to the breed standard as possible.
I also have to honest… breeding and working with people, made me kind of a “bitch” that I truly never was. I have been taught some nasty lessons by people, trying to play on my emotions so that they can get their way. So I am not heartless and I certainly don’t have a heart of stone, but NO ONE will succeed in getting their way with manipulative actions. If I get the feeling of being pressured by someone, or if so-called “important people” try to manipulate me, I will cancel the purchase of their puppy.
I have a very interesting way how I choose homes for my puppies as I believe that each puppy is born for a specific family, and it is my responsibility to get each puppy united with his new family. I love my work, it is truly my passion, I love animals more than people, I love spending my time with my dogs and I am very selfish with my time. That’s maybe why I don’t like my phone… but that doesn’t mean I’m a scammer… it only means that I choose my time wisely.
With much love
Ronel
We work closely with our vet, dr. Marlia De Wet (de Lange), who knows our dogs by name and frequently visits us. We never could have done this without the help of an excellent vet. Dr Marlia de Wet does all the c sections on our mommies, even late night hours... and of course it doesn't just stay with c sections. We have thrown her into deep waters, like the time when a pofadder bitten 6 of our Frenchies. In just a few minutes, she closed the doors of her practice, and made space to assist our Frenchies immediately. Such an caring, loving and amazing vet! What I love about dr Marlia is that a animal's welfare always comes first.
Laurika and her daughter, Katryn, also play a huge role at Hadeshua Stars. First, Laurika is the middleman between us and dr. Marlia while dr Marlia is busy with patients or operations. She and Katryn also assists when a c section needs to be done... and Katryn has some magic hands who can rub a newborn baby only a few seconds to get the first scream! They know most of our dogs and when Inus and myself need a break, Laurika's caring hands take over. Katryn has so much love for the doggies and is amazing with puppies.
