…little stars bred with Love…
Meet Inus & Ronel, a crazy couple with an even more crazy, next level kind of Love for dogs.
We live outside Swellendam on a small farm where we breed Miniature Schnauzers, Mini Longhair Dachshunds and French Bulldogs.
We are registered with KUSA with membership number 1023348.
All our puppies are KUSA or CANINE SA registered WITH BREEDING RESTRICTIONS, they are microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated up to date and leave our premises AFTER 8 weeks with a Puppy Pack.
We transport our puppies ourselves on certain days to Cape Town. Pups can also fly with Pet Lounge. Please contact us for a quote either for delivery or a flight.
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
I have always been obsessed with dogs and it has always been my dream to be surrounded by dogs all day long… taking care of them, grooming them and just loving to love them. Never could I have imagined that I would be so blessed to be given the responsibility to breed with dogs… little did I know that my work with dogs has been written down in the stars long before I could dream or knew it… and so this great dream of mine came true… on a beautiful little farm near Swellendam, called ‘IL Sogno’. After viewing the farm, I just knew that my footprints (as well as my dog’s footprints) were already buried in the sand… planned for us long before we knew… and so I searched the meaning of the name “IL SOGNO” and it’s meaning is “THE DREAM”
The creation, all creatures - great and small, and especially the CREATOR, play a huge role in my life. I believe that every man will have to give account for taking care of the creation and that is why I take my responsibility very seriously to breed with dogs. We breed with 3 breeds that we love and adore; we do everything in our power to ensure that we improve each breed. We do a lot of DNA testing to ensure we breed dogs without any genetic defect, disease or deficiencies. Our main goal is to breed healthy dogs with outstanding personalities… their looks are an absolute blessing and bonus. We love to make people happy, especially in playing a tiny role in making someone's dream come true... something with 4 paws and puppy breath...
Since I could remember, I was a dog-crazy person… I cannot imagine a world without dogs… I cannot imagine not being surrounded by a lot of dogs. I started breeding Mini Schnauzers during 2009 /2010. I am very passionate about my dogs, the puppies we breed, the bloodlines from which we breed, the overall health of dogs and the psychology behind a dog’s actions. I have done a lot of research and will certainly never stop learning or doing research about this passion of mine. I am also in process to study for a vet-tech so that I can assist quicker if one of our dogs has an emergency.
After I’ve learned a few nasty lessons from self-centred people, I confronted myself with the following question:
“What is my main reason or motive for breeding the breeds that I love so much? Why do I invest so much time, energy and money into my breeding program? Doing research about illnesses, genetics, breeding practices… doing DNA tests that cost a fortune… making sure there are no genetic illnesses in my bloodlines… figuring out which male to breed to which female to produce healthy, beautiful puppies with loads of personality… Why?”
* For the money? Well, then I would have spent every cent on myself and certainly not on my dogs…
Asking myself these question, made me realise that I’m definitely not breeding to become a millionaire, nor do I breed to please people! My main reason for breeding certain breeds is out of love for these breeds and it is my utmost desire to contribute to the future of these breeds – keeping it as healthy and pure to the breed standard as possible.
I also have to honest… breeding and working with people, made me kind of a “bitch” that I truly never was. I have been taught some nasty lessons by people, trying to play on my emotions so that they can get their way. So I am not heartless and I certainly don’t have a heart of stone, but NO ONE will succeed in getting their way with manipulative actions. If I get the feeling of being pressured by someone, or if so-called “important people” try to manipulate me, I will cancel the purchase of their puppy.
I have a very interesting way how I choose homes for my puppies as I believe that each puppy is born for a specific family, and it is my responsibility to get each puppy united with his new family. I love my work, it is truly my passion, I love animals more than people, I love spending my time with my dogs and I am very selfish with my time. That’s maybe why I don’t like my phone… but that doesn’t mean I’m a scammer… it only means that I choose my time wisely.
With much love
Ronel
We are blessed to have Trish & Nyasha as our helping hands. Nyasha does all the outside cleaning and sanitising on a daily basis while he plays with the dogs or lying on the floor playing with the pups. He also keeps an eye on the dogs in the play camp while keeping the grass pooh-free and the garden tidy.
Trish is my right hand inside… she keeps everything super clean and sanitised, keeps an eye on the inside doggies and also take care of the mommies and babies in the nursery when I cannot be with them. She also helps me with the washing of the tons of bedding every single day.
They truly are the best workers we could ask for.
We work closely with our vet, dr. Marlia De Wet (de Lange), who knows our dogs by name and frequently visits us. We never could have done this without the help of an excellent vet. Dr Marlia de Wet does all the c sections on our mommies, even late night hours… and of course it doesn’t just stay with c sections. We have thrown her into deep waters, like the time when a pofadder bitten 6 of our Frenchies. In just a few minutes, she closed the doors of her practice, and made space to assist our Frenchies immediately. Such an caring, loving and amazing vet! What I love about dr Marlia is that a animal’s welfare always comes first.
Laurika and her daughter, Katryn, also play a huge role at Hadeshua Stars. First, Laurika is the middleman between us and dr. Marlia while dr Marlia is busy with patients or operations. She and Katryn also assists when a c section needs to be done… and Katryn has some magic hands who can rub a newborn baby only a few seconds to get the first scream! They know most of our dogs and when Inus and myself need a break, Laurika’s caring hands take over. Katryn has so much love for the doggies and is amazing with puppies.
